10” E.R. Tip to be cut upon purchase. Clone info: This one sent me to the emergency room … I was supporting a heavy arm while a friend was sawing it off. Once it detached, it slipped and drove a 3 inch spine into my abdomen, sending me to the ER for a fun little minor surgery. What is it? Unknown, but to me it looks similar to CA1 Sherman, except the single spines at the base get extremely long on mature growth. What I do know is that it’s extra spicy — in my usual process of “gathering first hand knowledge” of these plants, what I considered a small bioassay dose prevented me from getting much work done that day. It humbled me once, then humbled me again, in two very different ways.
